Basics

QR codes and press kit

Every app has a QR code that opens its smart link, so each person who scans it lands in the right store for their phone. On Pro, Studio and Lifetime you can also publish a press kit: a public page and a ZIP download with everything journalists and partners need.

QR codes

The QR code is available as an image URL you can embed anywhere, and from the QR code tab in the dashboard where you can adjust it and download it.

FormatURLBest for
SVGhttps://mapps.one/habitly/qr.svgPrint, design tools and web pages. Scales without losing quality.
PNGhttps://mapps.one/habitly/qr.pngSlides, documents and social posts.

Options

Customise the image with query parameters:

ParameterValuesDefault
fgForeground colour as six hex digits, without #0b0b0f
bgBackground colour as six hex digits, without #ffffff
marginQuiet zone around the code, 0 to 8 modules2
eccError correction: L, M, Q or HM
sizeImage size in pixels, 128 to 40961024
logo1 to place your logo in the centre (Pro, Studio, Lifetime)off
download1 to download the file instead of displaying itoff

Invalid values fall back to the default. For example, a 2048 px blue PNG with high error correction and your logo:

To embed the code on a web page:

<img src="https://mapps.one/habitly/qr.svg" alt="Scan to download Habitly" width="160" height="160">

Printing tips

  • Keep strong contrast: a dark code on a light background scans best. Inverted colours fail on some phones.
  • Use ecc=Q or ecc=H when you add a logo, or when the print may get scratched or folded.
  • Print the code at least 2 cm (about 0.8 in) wide, and larger for posters that people scan from a distance.
  • Test the printed proof with both an iPhone and an Android phone before a big print run.
QR codes follow your slug. A printed code keeps working as long as the slug stays the same and the app is live. If you change the slug, existing codes stop working. Codes also stop resolving while the app is paused.

Tracking scans

Scans are counted like any other visit to the smart link. They are reported as the QR code traffic source when the URL inside the code contains src=qr or utm_source=qr. If you make QR codes with another tool, point them at a URL like https://mapps.one/habitly?utm_source=qr&utm_campaign=poster so you can tell each print campaign apart.

Press kit

The press kit gives journalists, bloggers and partners one place to get your icon, screenshots, logos and facts. It is available on Pro, Studio and Lifetime.

Set it up

  1. Open the app's Press kit tab and turn it on.
  2. Add a press contact email. If you leave it empty, the developer email is used.
  3. Add the release date and a short "About" paragraph about you or your studio.
  4. Upload extra assets such as logos, a trailer or photos of the team. Each file can be up to 20 MB and gets a label.

Your icon and screenshots are included automatically.
